Ridge House

Our client had a beautiful ridgeline property in Sonoma County, CA. Her desires were simple; provide a small, simple, modest house that settled into the hillside and provided maximum access to the ridgeline and views. She also wanted the house to be unique and challenge ideas of the typical. The solution was to have the house become a
series of ‘pods’ connected with exterior stairs and circulation. Pods (as they became known) stepped with the sloping hillside to allow exterior access and the ability to peer over the ridge to the astounding views. For simplicity and efficiency, the frame is to be constructed from prefabricated ‘CLT’ or Cross Laminated Timber panels with large fenestration.
